// Water Baptism at Shiloh

Take the
next step.

You've said yes to Jesus, now tell the world. Baptism is a public celebration of a new life in Christ, and we'd love to celebrate it with you.

Baptisms on Sunday mornings • 10:00 AM · 7801 Guadalupe St • Come as you are
// Why Baptism

Jesus died for you in public.
It's time to declare your faith publicly as well.

Baptism is how you show everyone what Jesus has done in your life.

01

Follow Jesus' example

Jesus was baptized, and He asked His followers to be baptized too. It's a simple step of obedience.

02

Picture new life

Going under the water and coming back up shows your old life buried and your new life raised with Christ.

03

Celebrate with family

Your church family gets to cheer you on, and your story may be the encouragement someone else needs.

“And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
Acts 2:38 · ESV
// Is It Time?

Is baptism
for me?

If you can say yes to these, you're ready. Not sure? Sign up anyway, we'll have a no-pressure conversation with you first.

  • I have put my trust in Jesus as my Lord and Savior.
  • I understand baptism is a public way of declaring my faith.
  • I want to follow Jesus with my whole life.
  • I was baptized as a baby, or before I really knew Jesus, and want to take this step for myself.

// Good Questions

Before you take the plunge.

Do I need to be a member of Shiloh to be baptized?
No. If you've put your faith in Jesus and call Shiloh home, or you're getting there, we'd love to baptize you.
I was baptized as a baby. Should I be baptized again?
Many people choose to be baptized as a personal response to their own faith. We'd love to talk it through with you. Just choose “Baptized as a baby” on the form.
How old does my child need to be?
There's no set age. What matters is that your child understands who Jesus is and is choosing to follow Him. A pastor will meet with you and your child together before baptism.
What do I wear?
We'll give you a baptism t-shirt. Wear dark shorts or pants underneath, and bring a change of clothes. Avoid white or light-colored clothing.
Do I have to speak in front of everyone?
Not at all. A pastor will ask you one simple question in the water. If you'd like your story shared, we can read it for you.
I still have a question.
We'd love to help. Email us at info@shilohaustin.com or talk to anyone at the Welcome Table on Sunday.
